My transmission on my 300SD (116 body) is leaking. My mechanic tells me that to replace that particular seal the tranny needs to be dropped and opened. He has replaced the others.

Since this tranny has 200,000+ miles on it - I hate to open it up until it needs a rebuild.

Does anyone know of any stop leak agents that could help????

Please.....this leak has been driving me crazy for 8+ years now!

If you think that you will need an overhaul, then you might want to give the stopleak a shot, but from what I have heard it can cause serious tranny problems. Approach with caution.
