Dont like the listing? dont bid. but you sure seem to be spending alot of time talking about it.

i'm not suprised to find out that you're so aware of public transportation these days.
and whether anyone bids or not isnt important. what IS important is that its making YOU talk about it isnt it? see, it already works. now imagine if there was an ad on it.

and you better read the fine print before you begin quoting $6 ads.

like duration of ad, and not to mention the cost of creating the silkscreen FOR the ad to even be posted. $6? maybe in 1963! and who really wants their ad on the back of something people who cant even afford a yugo would ride? not counting pizza shops, tv news channels and lawyers.

so what's worse, a guy wanting to turn his great car into a billboard or the people who are really pathetic enough to have nothing better to do with themselves than criticize someone elses choice for THEIR OWN vehicle???

beater? show me another 300sd td with less miles and in better shape and STILL have every original part on it. on second thought, show me YOUR vehicle! and as for "those five children" , i thought this was a discussion about cars? but ofcourse i guess i shouldnt be shocked, this all coming from someone who has nothing better to do than talk about someone ELSES mercedes.

ofcourse it isnt shocking to see how "bigman" someone can be from a keyboard in another state!

so keep your hostile messages coming, meanwhile i'll just keep laughing at how pathetic it must be for you to not be working, mowing your lawn, playing golf or ANYTHING productive for that matter. are you really THAT lonely?

or you can always buy jimmyl's smoking pile of crap or offer alcoholicdan a drink for a ride to the social security office? and for a mercedes forum, nobody but a couple of people seem to HAVE a mercedes. meanwhile i'll keep driving the four that i currently have AND not have to worry about quoting ad prices on the back of buses! LOL

I'm 18 and I've had a mercedes two years....

Also, perhaps they would not advertise on a bus, but for that much money they could certainly afford a more effective form of advertising. A car with a limited travel time and localized area of potential viewers is not very effective. Public transportation is out in traffic all day long.

Here's an idea, if you have four of them and can't afford them, why not sell one?

The hostility seems to be coming from you chief. What makes you think we are not working? We must be working, since we are not begging someone else to pay for our car.....
It makes me smile to know we got under your skin enough to post three rapid fire posts in a row....
Good luck with your charity auction.

**by the way, I never condone mentioning anyone's kids in any way. That was inappropriate IMHO**

you do have a point there, not everyone is going to jump all over the idea, and yeah, maybe nobody will. but the point is. it's an unusual method of advertising, why just post another sign or billboard that people will just drive by and ignore?

and it isnt about "not affording" them. i'll be just fine if it doesnt sell, the car will get payed off and eventually i'll put in a better stereo. the concept is , "why not let someone else pay for it?" if vehicle advertising is such a hair-brained idea. then who are all of the people putting magnetized signs on their cars? or the pizza shops who require cartoppers for their delivery drivers. it's working for SOMEONE apparently. and to be quite honest. i'm just a big fan of strange and weird ideas. i enjoy getting a kick out of the unusual, so yeah i watch alot of monster garage, pimp my ride. ect.

it isnt about being broke, desperate or hard-up for attention.

i'm just a guy trying to have a little fun with his car. why has it got to resort to insults and bringing my children into it to do so?

you're right, it probably is a bad idea. BUT. it's MY idea for MY car. you dont have to like it, but think about it. if it's causing this much of a stir on a chat forum, imagine what it would do in traffic. and THATS what i get a kick out of.

well ofcourse it bugs me, NObody likes to see other people putting them down in any way. anyone who says they dont care is lying.
and honestly it didnt bother me that much until the kids were mentioned (which if you notice is just before my rapid replies)

sure i'd post pics if you really wanted to see them, i think it would be fun, which is the ONLY reason i posted the listing to begin with.

not to argue with people who enjoy the same thing i do.

and trust me, it isnt about charity or begging for ANYthing.

i worked for every car i have. and if someone wants to make it worth my while to have a little crazy fun with the car, who is ANYone to denounce it?

I'm with the cleaverly spelled cybertoothtyger,
If someone will buy me a good used engine, I will stencil their info on the cover of my aircleaner and always park my wagon with the hood up.
Hey, it's a wacky idea, but it's MY idea!
I am glad you enjoy these fine cars. Outside of all the crap we are giving you, we hope you stay around and add to the fun. We do have these klackity klackin things in common...

thank you, yeah i enjoy then quite alot, especially the looks people give you when they hear you coming, turn around expecting to seem some mack dumptruck heard at them, only to find the long sleek arrow of the 126 body benz coming at them.LOL

i HOPE , after all of this 'ad mess" blows over that i can hook up with some knowledge of parts and troubleshooting.
i'm not out to argue with anyone. i just had a 'you know what'd be really cool?" moment the other night, and posted the listing without thinking twice.
i mean hell, it cost 140 freakin bucks to post the ad. so it isnt about being broke, it was a wine-cooler induced whim.

i wouldnt even be past putting mercedesshop.com wrapped around the car, any takers? LOL

p.s. jimmy theres a carlot my uncle has that has an 82 240d with a 5 cyl. the car has some rear-end moaning but the car is almost gorgeous (faded paint, a bubbly spot on the front fender ect.) and if i'm not mistaken it had 182,000 on it with all electric options. cybertoothtyger1999@yahoo.com if you want the phone# and it also had four stock rims extra in the trunk. two of which had studded snowtires. and factory decker europa tapedeck

The wagon engine head has an extra opening for the hydraulic pump that the wagons have, so I must either have a wagon engine, or a Euro engine that has the opening blocked off. My mechanic has one of those, along with a manual tranny for $1300 bucks, but I don't have the $1300, and I would still have to install all of the above, which is over my head.
Your 126 is definitely low miles. Save up for your paint job, and keep it factory sharp.
And again, welcome.... You gave us some fun. We usually just bust on each other, so it is always nice to deversify...

I'm just shocked at someone wanting to deface something that sounds like a pristine low mile example of one of the finest models ever built by Mercedes Benz. Why not take some POS beater and make a rolling billboard out of it? If I lived in the area where this car is listed, I would make an attempt to make a reasonable offer for the car and save the car from any further harm. I live in an area where it's been impossible to find such a car in good condition for a reasonable amount of money.

Jimmy, no worries on dishing out the ballbusting, as you can see i made an "attempt" to hold my own(and usually i do lol)

as for the wagon, a few months back i saw a 77-82 wagon that had the side bashed in way in the back of a driveway near utica ohio. i was actually gonna stop someday and ask about the fenders and foglamps. being a deliveryguy i go to all sorts of houses and will keep my eye open for you. if i roll by that house again i'll stop in and hit em up about it, maybe we could go in on it for parts.

Lietuviai, it isnt exactly "pristine" but yes its very nice. i need to find a rear tail lens for it, mine is chipped through. and the interior has a couple cracks and seperations, nothing more than normal though. i dunno why i chose this one, it just sounded fun. and nobody would wanna advert on a beater. prolly not even on THIS. besides, around here there are alot of high and mighty cities where people think they're gods gift to money, so you can always find an awesome deal on an older benz, volvo beemer ect.
wanna hear something sickening? i only gave 1400 for the one in the listing.

besides, as i told you guys, i wouldnt be above putting mercedesshop.com on it if you guys wanna 'save" it lol.

i wouldnt even ask for the tires or stereo from ya, heck just paint the damn thing and atleast help with HALF the payoff =)
