Purging the Benz
Ok so I just got my can of Liqui Moly Diesel Purge, but am unsure of what lines to disconnect to purge the injectors.
I have included a picture with arrows indicating the lines. Red-Appears to come from the fuel tank. Green-there is an arrow pointing in the direction of the arrow pictured. This line goes to the back side of the IP(between the IP and the engine itself) Blue-comes from the IP, near the pump, and goes to the filter. There is an arrow on the filter in the direction of the arrow in the picture. Yellow- comes from the injectors back to the fuel filter. My guess is that I need to disconnect the yellow, as it appears to be the return line, and maybe red so that the purge is taken is as the diesel normally would?? Am I right on this?

All you need to do is pull the fuel line at the injection pump ( the one with clear inline filter attached to it) and submerge it in the diesel purge. Also pull the line you labeled with the red arrow and stick it in the jar, as this will pour out the excess purge that is taken in...and sit back and marvel at the sound of the engine sucking down purge..

THe black cigar hose is the tank return (the red arrow)..you run a short length of hose from there to a bottle....you need another short length of hose to go from the kift pump which is where the little milky plastic filter is down low on the IP....that is what sucks up the Diesel purge.....in the bottle

Have new fuel filters handy, too.
When I purged my 240D the other day, my clear in-line filter got pretty nasty. I changed it, as well as changing the spin-on filter. - Patrick
