need 1987 300D blower regulator partNum

The dealership did a diagnostic and told me i need a blower regulator and a new acc pushbutton unit. His price for parts & 5 hrs labor is $1460.21. I know that a rebuilt acc runs about $275 and is "plug and play". Looking at the repair manual, the replacement instructions for the blower regulator are pretty straightforward so i think i can do it myself. I see a regulator offered on ebay from a 92 300E and the part number is bosch #124 820 27 10. Does anyone know if this is the correct part number for me? Also see a 87 SDL regulator is available. Would this fit??

darkman....

My indy put in a used blower reg. for $50.00. I put in a rebuilt ACC push button unit which I got from benz-store.com for $155.00. Both jobs are easy.

87 300D blower regulator

Paul, thanks for letting me know i'm on the right track with this DIY. The price for your ACC unit is much less than the best price I had found. I'm going to the site you referred to now. Thanks again.

That estimate seems ridiculous to me ... my Indy replaced my blower motor and regulator for around $600.

If you can't find a regulator, I still have the one that he pulled out of mine. It may work. The blower motor was shot, and we decided he might as well replace the regulator while he was in there, since it was 18 years old and possibly contributing to the malfunction ... but it wasn't definatively busted. Let me know if you want to try it as a last-ditch resort ...
