1985 300sd 126 body, flashing headlights??????

Hello, anyone heard of this one yet.

the other morning i come out of my house to start my diesel 300sd up to let it warm up before going to work, i open the door, get in. and i can see by the reflection on the garage door that the headlights are flashing. as well as the tail lights. the only way to stop them was to turn on the headlights.
so i went ahead and started the car, turned off the headlights and they still did it. so i shut down the car and yes, STILL doing it. i had to resort to disconnecting the battery and taking the 81 240d to work that day. i got home reconnected the battery and all was well for a day or so, then yestersday, same thing. i'm thinking alarm issues. although there is no horns or squelching. because of it doing it right after opening the drivers door.

is it some sort of alarm box? and if so can i disconnect it and still have the car operational? and if so, where is the box at? with every flash i hear a ticking (reminds me of a turn signal click) under the dash under the glovebox.

the one day in between it DIDNT do it was the morning i leaned in from the passenger side door, opening it instead of the drivers door.

any ideas? also needing a tailight lens 9left rear) for same 85 300sd

thanks , i'll give that a shot, i was assuming it was an alarm issue but the fact that the horn didnt beep made me wonder. and only having the car a short time, i didnt know there WAS an alarm until this happened.

Same exact thing happened to me when I hooked up my low tone horn (it had been disconnected)

I just disconnected it again, and never looked back, did getting rid of the alarm system solve your problem?
