Question My First Mercedes...???

Alright...I am not a gear/metal-head, so I hope no one is offended by my lack of knowledge when it comes to cars...but I would like to change that.

I would like a car that runs on Vegetable Oil; I think that would be the greatest.

Now, I understand that some modifications must be made to the engine (ie- filters) in order for this transformation to take place, but...

...is there a "better" engine for this job? If so, which one?

What I would like to know is, which early/mid/late 1980's model mercedes would be best for this task.

Let me know what you think,

skwerlybird

Thumbs up Vo/wvo

First and foremost, welcome! Everyone has there favorite Benz. I like 1985 and older 300D models. The heads are cast iron. Though many here prefer newer models. As far as going veggie, read through that sticky. Decide if you are going all veggie, or a blend. Tomj, a member here, produces some fine injectors for a full veggie car. Read his posts or PM him. Again, welcome.

Talking Diesel AND WVO/SVO

In an ideal world, I would like to have my Diesel benz with an optional fuel tank/line that would also allow WVO/SVO. Is this possible?

Not that I would not mind going 100% WVO/SVO, but the option between Diesel AND WVO/SVO would be even nicer.

That is what my vision is, and that is what I am striving for.

Gonna go ready through that Sticky on WVO/SVO/Biodiesel now...
