Red face Howdy..Intro..

Hello,All..

I'm Steven from E.Tennessee...I'm a Diesel Benz lover.Hope to go look at my first MB 83 240D this weekend.Wish me luck....

Looks like a great site...I already like it very much..lurked a while.

Do you have any suggestions as to what to look for in a 83 240D with 168,000 miles on it? Thanks......

Welcome to the Forum
I'm not a 240D expert but on any diesel (or any vehicle for that matter) a solid maintenence history is a good indicator of how the car has been kept.

Enthusiast Diesel Owners tend to keep everything related to their baby from parts removed to receipts from Wally-Mart for oil. Not every owner is an enthusiast, but these cars do benefit from regular maintenance and most people will be happy to show you all the time and money they have spent to look after their car.

Good luck with your search.

I was down there on vacation about a year ago. Wife really liked the area too.

If it was just me, I'd move back down South in a heartbeat, but my wife has a good career going that she really likes, and I wouldn't drag her away from that. I can pretty much work anywhere.

I'll probably work here in MN until I retire in 15 years or so, but after that we don't plan on staying up here. Winter is just too damn long...

Thumbs up Heaven on Earth

Kingsport, Bristol, and Johnson City. Been there many times, hated leaving more every time I left. Welcome, many genuises here on this forum. Watch, you will see. I won't name names, because I would be SURE to leave someone out, but many are in Texas, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic. This is a GREAT forum, in ALL aspects. Please no offense to other persons or parts of this great world, but theses fellows are always ready to help. Welcome.

Welcome Steven. I hope you get bitten by the same bug most of us here have.
If it smokes wildly, walk away. No, RUN!
