Anyone retrofit ABS into a W123?

I was looking at the ABS diagrams from a W126 and it looks like it might possible to retrofit the system to a W123 provided you have a whole W126 parts car. The biggest deal would be installing the pump and swapping out the rear axle.
Anyone do it?

Would be nice to know if the part number for the W123 ABS pump is the same as for the W126 - does anyone have that info handy?

There is a euro 300CD in the local junkyard with factory ABS. I don't know how much they yard would want for it but it would take a long time to get everything. You'd have to get the wheel sensors, pump, brake lines. You'd even want to instrument cluster so that it would have the ABS light. I looked at the cluster and it looks funny because there are very few dumby lights there. Let me know if I could be of any help. This car also has the euro lheadlight wiper setup. It was wrecked in the LF which would make it somewhat difficult to get to all the parts.

Thanks
David

Interesting to think about, talk about and plan but do yourself a favor and don't go through with it. I gotta chalk this one up to misguided energy.

I guess the ABS didn't help the Euro CD that WANT '71 280SEL found in the wrecking yard.

Isn't there enough things to fix on your car to keep you busy without converting it to ABS?

abs

i had a 123 300d euro which i parted out. the abs was attractive but when i looked at all the stuff that would have to come out i was daunted. i sent it to the crusher with the abs attached. if your benz brakes are working correctly, the abs hardly ever acts anyway.
