Is there a trick or something to lock the doors from the inside on these cars?
I can lock all the doors and trunk from outside the drivers side door with the key, as well as unlock them, but once inside the car how do I lock and unlock the doors?

Push the lock down on the driver's side and the others should lock too.

Yeah, that's to prevent you from (easily) locking your keys in, you really have to be clever to work around it and lock them in but it is possible to do so
