Thanks for a great site!

Howdy all - Lock cylinder in the '83 SD driver's door has been hanging up so I couldn't lock the doors using the key. Major pain opening the rear door to push the darn front button down (opened fine with key). Anyway, quick fix was to swap front door handles. Quick search here, found a thread explaining how to remove the handles - and pointing out that interior panels did not have to come off. Problem solved in 15 minutes...Thanks all. Keep posting - it works!

Fred

Lock Problem

I had a similar problem, my dealer parts counter person suggested I take it to a local lock shop. $20 later, works like new.

It was gummed up and rusted. They cleaned each one of the internal discs and replaced several springs. All is well.
