W126 SD Two-Tone Leather?

Saw this on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7978342383&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Nice looking car. The two tone leather is gorgeous, but is it original?

If it was just a little closer it'd be a nice project.

Neither of those colors looks factory to me. My guess is some previous owner had it dyed to suit her fancy.

The original pleats are narrower and the material is perforated. You can make door panels like that yourself if you find someone who wants the reciprocal combo.

If I had to way to go pick it up I would click the $500 buy it now today. It would cost me almost $1000 to get it up to Michigan.

I am considering this car. If I buy a trans and take it down, do the swap in a parking lot, then drive it back. Hey I've done crazer things!

I just talked to the guy, the car needs a transmission, I was thinking it might need a new B2 piston but its trashed. Paint doesn't match, is was a quick Macco spray job, tinted windows, interior is still pretty nice. Needs an engine, its burning "alot of oil". Would make a great parts car for the 2-tone interior.

Paint job is nothing if its not rusted.....I have an engine and a trans I could make work...but like I said....I have no space for it.
