source for aluminized exhaust pipe

morning all:

I seek a good source for aluminized exhaust pipe for my 85 300D

I dropped the exhaust to replace the lower control arm- will post fotos and experiences- not that I can top Dave Morrisons- thanks dude

so I see that the rust belt has given most of the tubing da cancer

If I am going to do it I would like to do it right-

Suggestions or comments at what i am looking at - about to do

please and thanks

peace:

tubing

the standard exhausts are so long lived i could ask , why bother?... but i dont know of a source. there are a number of stianless options in hemmings or the mb club newsletters... and there is always bending one up at a local muf shop. they usually offer a lifetime warranty.... although the results are some what dependant on the skill of the operator.

Get a standard steel exhaust system and give it 2 coats of hi temp paint. I use ordinary silver brush on stove pipe paint from the hardware store. I did this first on my pickup truck and the exhaust looks like new after 10 years, except for slight heat discoloration on the first 2 feet next to the engine.

ganaraska:

Would that be the midwest or somewhere east of there?

thanks for the recommendation. Still want to go with aluminized
I think it better option for resale value

sure the original steel will last a good 20 years - paint is not an option for me - I want easy, slick and durability

i can get bends thru JC whitney- For all the cars and trucks I work on I'd like to keep it simple- all will be retro fitted with aluminized beofre I get done with them

peace

I live on the north shore of Lake Ontario, 40 miles northeast of Rochester New York. You know in winter when the weather man talks about snow coming down from Canada? You are getting what blows off my roof.

I see your point, it's a pain in the neck dropping the car off at the muffler shop every 20 years.(joke)

Check out Jet Hot coatings.

They offer high-temp coating systems for exhaust manifolds and other high temp. engine pieces.

Ship them your part, they then coat it, and ship it back to you.

Prices vary and arent cheap, but if you want a durable and long lasting finish on your exhaust, check them out.

If you want an exhaust system that will still be as good as new when the rest of the vehicle turns to iron oxide, you have no choice:

www.timevalve.com

All stainless, for not much more than stock.
