For what its worth the red plastic looks similar to the material for the circular trim holder on-er thingies.....That's why I was thinking it was a piece of the car and not from a Previous owner pez dispenser or something.....Surely someone has a guess as to what this could be? all guesses realistic or otherwise will be fully considered....

Does the red plastic match the interior color?

If not, I can't see how it could have been used anywhere inside the cabin???

nope palmino int. I was thinking it was part of a door lock or window mechanism or something..Or maybe the seat?

legos?

i dont recognize it either.

Legos good guess but I don't think so because the PO was an older guy with no mention or other eveidence of kids/grandkids.....My kids deposit legos in pretty much every car they ride in but they havn't been in this one yet....

I was thinking more along the lines of something behind the dash, one of the climate servos or something, I can't quite place it.
