A/C compressor failure today
My dad's A/C compressor seized today while he was driving (on the '83) Brief belt squeal then some smoke from the clutch burning away, it still engages the clutch (sorta) but it just makes a rubbing sound and you can see that the compressor is not rotating. So now both SD's need an A/C makeover... Looks like we'll need to order two of all those parts, and make a double-appointment with whunter......It is so Hot/Humid around here...current: 87 degrees, 80% humidity.... The van's A/C has been recharged and works very very well, thankfully. But my car still has none at all....

pawosd, you should have made it to the last G2G. whunter wasn't there but I really want to meet him. Does he have a 609 and the tools to work on such systems? Don't worry whunter if you're reading this, my A/C works great in the SDL Seriously though, you should try to make next month's G2G. How far are you from Troy? I'll try to make the next one as well though I drove 6 hours total for 2 hours of MB talk, it was worth it though.
Thanks David

Don't come to Texas if you think that's bad. I don't drive Klaus during the day as the temps with humidity is so extreme, I'm out to pick up some more parts currently.

This past winter I had to try to get my o'l beast running when it was -10 F out I vastly prefer the high heat to the extreme cold....
I'm not as bothered by the heat as most people I know, except my uncle...he bought a car brand new without a/c (his 1996 cavalier).....I've driven my A/C-less car in as high as 95 deg's.....and I lived. I'd just like to make the A/C work, more comfortable....
