'87 190D 2.5Turbo 5-speed is a reality.
I took my recently converted 190D 2.5T 5-speed for its first drive tonight. I got the mechanical systems finished tonight. The clutch action and shifter feel are very good. It still needs some work to get the electrical fine points sorted out, but it sure felt good to be moving under its own power.
I think I'll be looking for a different rearend, however. The 2.65 rearend ratio, combined with the overdrive 5th gear makes for a very "tall" final drive ratio. I am working on a deal to swap another guy for a 3.27 rearend which should be a bit more suitable. I just had to share. SteveM.

sweet ride
sounds very nice. i would live with the rear end for a while before going to the trouble to switch it out. you might get used to it.
