Did I make a mistake?
Saw an 87 300d turbo on ebay and went to check it out and ended up buying it for $500. It has 198k mi very strait body with good original paint, clean int no accidents, some small rust spots and not a drop of oil underneath, newer exaust, just needs a good bath. Problem is, it has a blown #14 head, I checked the oil and there's no coolant in it, trans fluid looks good and so is the sunroof, my thinking is if I can't bring it back to life then I got a good $500 parts car, I know the 617 guys feel this way too but there's just something about the 603/124 combination that is special so if it ends up just been a parts car for my other 87 300d then at least I can keep that one going. Now, does any body know where I can find a reasonable cyl head for this car? I knew going in that they are scarse but I've seen some crazy prises out there the last couple of days. Hope you guys don't beat me up too bad on this gamble

Better to buy a car that you know has a bad head than to find out later.

500 ok
seems like a fair or even good price to pay for a non running good body parts car or one to fix up.
