new ignition tumbler, but new key doesn't open door

well after many hours searching and reading the forum's advice, I got up the courage to replace the tumbler on the 300D. (diesel giant's pics are great http://dieselgiant.com/repairignitionlock.htm. ) this forum is so great!

turns out it took less than 20 minutes, once I got the paper clip right. (beginners luck I guess)

I ordered a VIN matched tumbler / key set. Ignition works great, but the key doesn't work in the drivers or passenger door. The new key works great on the trunk.

Is this a common problem, due to key wear...Is there any adjustment that can be done on the driver's/pass door locks? or am I now a two key car guy?

playing with the old tumbler now that it's out makes me realize I was only a couple of turns away from totally stuck, so glad it's done, but not thrilled about 2 keys.

You could try giving the door tumblers a good lube with a proper lube of your choice before deciding the new key will not work them.

Someone probably changed the door locks in the past. Unfortinutly that happens you either have to live with it or order new locks.
