Replacment vac lines?
 

Some of my vac lines are a bit on the old side and have some weather cracking, before this problem goes from bad to worse I'd like to fix this.

Is there any special vac tubing that resists heat better than others I can purchase or would my local McParts have this?

If you are talking about the hard, colored vacuum lines, use the MB line. It is color coded which will prevent problems trouble shooting in the future and has already last 20 years.

If you are talking about the rubber vacuum line connectors, the hose as well as 3 and 4 way connectors. Call Phil at Fastlane. They sell it by the meter. I always have 1-2 meters around. It is used extensively throughout the car.

The rubber vac lines can actually be bought at some hardware stores. They don't have the 3,4, etc. connectors but they have the regular line. Just to enlighten you, you probably won't have the car when the rubber vacuum lines go bad again. Just go through and replace them all, then go from there. Once they've all been replaced, they'll last a pretty long time. If you go the hardware store route, you shouldn't be out more than 3 bucks tops at least for the two way connectors. The 3 way ones have to be bought from Phil and I think they may be as much as a coupe bucks depending on how many branches.

Now, to your original question. If you really wanted to be anal, you can be rubber protectant products that some people use on door seals etc. to keep them fresh. The product makes the rubber last longer. I don't know of any special rubber vacuum hose that will last longer per say, so the rubber protectant would be the best route. Then again, the protectant would cost more than the vacuum hose!

Yup just the lil short rubber ones.
