Oil pressure is hanging up after shutdown

I changed the oil in my 300TD yesterday, after having to trash the grill insert to get the hood open... due to the release cable comming loose.

So then I descover that I dont have any more "good " oil filters left. Just one from
Bosch which I ordered a while back before learning that the quality is suspect. That procedure went ok, and upon restarting the car, the oil pressure took a few monents to come up, may be a bit longer than normal , but seeings how the sump had just been emptyed, it was not alarming.

Shut the car off, and the oil pressure gage drops like normal until it gets to .6 Bar, and by the time it gets to .2 bar it seems to stop. Now to confuse the issue I have changed the instrument cluster yesterday at the same time so it could be the gage I suppose...

any Ideas on this? Yes I am going to change the filter as soon as I can get one that is worth putting in the car.

Hmmm

I would suspect the guage you just installed before assigning blame to the oil filter.
If the gauge line is full of air, it may give a false reading.
