Maybe I missed it...

But is there a thread/sticky on the common tune up items with corresponding/recommended parts/oils/liquids/filters/etc. floating around?

What year/model are you driving? This is for the 1976-1985 W123 diesels, and can be applied to other models as well.
Recommended Service Intervals (W123, but can be used on other models)

Since I just bought my car, I guess what I am also looking for is a compilation thread of the recommended brands of oil, filters, plugs, etc. that people use. I will probably just search for each individual item, but I thought a forum like this might have a thread adjusting all the basic tune up items.
I LOVE this forum.

Plugs? Hmm... I think you should try a set of Splitfires instead of the glowplugs. Keep us posted on the results.

Um, are 'glowplugs' not referred to as 'plugs' on this forum?

That's perfectly alright, I was just kidding (to be honest, at first I really thought you meant spark plugs). Please don't take offense.

Hehehe. No offense. At least I didn't ask what kind of 'gas' to use in my diesel, eh?
