Turbo Question....or suspension?

When I accellerate on my 87 there is the usual lag before the turbo kicks in, but lately it feels like the turbo is kind of spooling up slower and unevenly before it finally kicks in then I take off like a rocket. I am no sure if it is actually the turbo or the rear suspension causing this feeling, it's kind of a squirlly feeling. The bushings on my thrust arms are a little dogeared around the edges, but appear to be firm otherwise. Same goes for the control arm struts and the rear tie rods. The flex discs appear to be in good shape also. The only rubber I found in bad shape were two bushings on the back of the differential up high and facing the rear of the car. They are worn to the point where you can move the differential back and forth a bit with your hands. I don't know what they are called or how hard they are to change, or if they're even related to my problem. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Brian

Aneroid

I call it an aneroid since my other commercial diesels have them. This limit fuel from the injection pump until you have sufficient boost from the turbo. The line goes fron the intake manifold to the firewall on the drivers side is a small pressure line to the IP. Check if it is intact. If it is intact remove it temporarily. See if you can tell a difference. I would start there. Don't forget to reconnect it after the test.

squirrley

i dont know about the engine situation but any looseness i the diff mount can cause some problems. i dont think that the diff looseness will cause squirrly handling but it should be repaired. the little links at the front of the back wheels if loose will cause very noticalbe squirrly handling when getting on and off the gas in a turn as on an entrance ramp and even when going straight.
