ac/heater fan quit
The ac/heater fan in my 1983 300 td, quit the other day. Did my climate control unit go out ? Or, is it the fan ? All the fuses look good. Where do I start looking ? thanks

"All the fuses look good."
That is hard to determine just by looking... they now make digital Ohm Meters which sell for $8 dollars and up.... they are a wonderful invention... having fried my old style ohm meter ... the new ones have lots of idiot protection features... Suggest you actually check for electricity on both sides of the fuse holder.. then proceed if necessary.... shame to waste effort on the more complicated stuff if simple stuff will fix it... Pull the plug to the fan and run 12 volts to it.. if it works then you are back to the wiring circuit... or the ac control circuit. Does your air conditioner compressor turn on ? |
i had the same problem
i would also check your blower fan by putting 12v to it if it work it ok but my 84 300sd it was the control box was bad my was on passger side under the dash next to center cousol it look like a little black box

Took a closer look at the fuses, they still look good. I replaced the 25 amp fuse and the fan is spinning fine. :D The old fuse, looked like it got a little hot, it had a slight curve/wobble to it. thanks for the help.
