Wagon Latch Assembly Question

I recently bought an 85 300TD wagon. The seller was nice and gave me an unbroken latch assembly from his parts wagon. While reaching inside the tailgate to see what is involved in changing it out it looks like I knocked bottom part of the lever (actuator?) for the door button off what is was attached to. It's a rod with a 90 degree angle on the end. I can't see or feel where it hooks into. I had the steaky site bookmarked but it's gone. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the views - figured it out. The extra latch assembly doesn't have the plastic bushing/connectors that would have made it obvious. Another good example of why not to start messing with someting at the end of the day when one is tired.
