Vac. Line Unplugged...

I found the other day that the vacuum line pictured below is unplugged. According to the most pertinent vacuum diagram I found, this controls the "vent to passenger compartment." What I'm wondering is:

A. Where can I find the location to plug this back into? The diagrams don't show what happens to this line after it passes through the firewall, and if one of the AC ones does, it's too confused to see.

B. If I just plug this up and forget about it what consequences would it have to my AC system?

Don't worry about it, its doing just what it was designed to do. It's connected to "atmosphere" or it was something about MB thinking air would be cleaner from inside the cabin.

Its not supposed to be plugged into anything.

Speaking of vent lines.... The vacuum line that comes off the side of the IP...The connection has a boot to it than connects to the aluminum box on the side of the IP. This is a 603. Anyways, it has a wierd flare (?) to it on the inside of the box. Anyways, mine is broken but I was told it's a vent line to the passenger compartment. Do I need to cover the hole when washing the engine? You can't miss this vacuum line. It was a 90 degree fitting and can't be bought separately from the box, I asked.

If you don't understand I'll try to take a pic tomorrow.

Thanks
David
