The problem with Passion..(ex Diesel head, motor head)

The problem with passion is that most time its like a fine wine whose fermentation must be carefully controlled. Do it incorrectly and you get vinegar. I burned myself out on working on Diesels and cars in general and one day I said enough is enough. Too many long Saturdays and Sundays I should have been spending on my family. Too many lunch hours sneaking off to junkyards. Too many mornings rising early at 5 am to fix stuff.. I even invented this new ID ( i used to be carrameow) to help my addiction...I think I'm over the hump now...

The only problem is even when you buy a new sealed car, it inevitably gets old and one day you find yourself thinking..I'm not waiting in line 28 hours at a dealer and paying someone to do this ...but I will cross that bridge when i come to it...some of the better marques offer loaners....

I don't know what to make of this but you're creeping me out.

For starters, how do I know that you indeed are (were) carrameow? In any event sounds as though its too late to talk you back from the edge. Thanks for being a new car consumer and helping the economy. I reccomend you reduce all activities assoicated with maintaining yourself and your posessions and hire out everything.

I don't like this one bit.

The old Carrameow was a fellow who would stick to any project until he got it done. Didn't matter if it was a Volvo exhaust system in the middle of NYC or a 300D running at 140°C. He fixed it. Damn good mechanic.

Now, here your are, with a new identity, basically throwing in the towel and leasing a new rice burner.

What the hell is going on here?

Why did you change your log in name? We know you as carrameow, and we relate that name to your past adventures.
Who else has tackled the Mazda rotary and the infamous Volvo diesel?

I locked myself out of my Carrameow account

to cut down on forum addiction. This forum did have a lot to do with it. I mean if all your friends are dissassembling cars, you will also. I did such a good job locking myself out I cant get back in.
I wasnt just fixing cars, i had an ocd obssession, every panel light, and feature and power lock had to work perfectly. I think if I had just been fixing them, that would be okay.....I would spend days getting bad sunrrof to retract correctly, it was nuts...

I hope you will be back!

Carrameow, I read some of your posts and they were worth reading. I think we can all over do the things we really like to the point where they become burdensome. Let it go for a while. ENJOY! Read a good book. Spend time with the family. Forget about diesel. And when you are really rested and ready to enjoy it, come on back.

If it was easy everybody would do it!
