Two unhooked Vac lines Under dash on 84 300d
Hi all I am a Tech at a dealer here and we have an 84 300d in that we are selling.
The Vac Locks do not work, atc is inop, and the engine will not shut off.. I can shut it off by applying vac to the ignition switch. There are two black Polyamaride vac lines that come thru the firewall gromett and up the the base of the steering column, however they do not attach to anything. I have tried to find these two lines in a Vac diagram to no avail. I have searched the forums here, and even called the Local MB dealer and have not found anything. So I ask does anyone know what these two lines go to? it is down to me and they really want this car on the lot!!! Thanks! |

Thanks. I had been studying those diagrams, and not having much luck. Altho it does appear that one of these lines may be the vent that is shown, the other appears to be a line that is just labeled as "remaining consumers".
The bummer is that everythign did work just fine, it went out to be detailed and now it has these problems... |
if they cleaned the engine, check all the vac connections at the firewall against the diagrams as well as any rubber connections that might be leaking.
if they knocked some off and reconnected it wrong it might be the problem. You can also plug off everything from the main splitter that goes in the cabin, but leave the brown line connected- for the shutoff, reconnect the others one at a time to locate your leak. green is climate yellow is locks black is vent etc |
