How to price parts when parting out a 126?

Does any one have any guidelines for pricing parts when parting out a car, namely body parts?

I have my '83 300SD with front end damage and I'm trying to figure out what to ask for the parts. I looked up what Adsit wanted.. geez.. seems like I could ask half that and be good.

Adsit is pretty much outrageous on anything. When I sold parts off my cars I usually asked 45% to 50% of new cost. Sometimes higher if the part was really nice or hard to find.

Yeah everyone is going to want the same stuff wood, seats, ect. Also people want parts cheap.

I parted out a car once and you really don't make much money by doing it.

Speak for yourself.

It depends how much time you put into it and how much money you have in the car to begin with.

The last car I parted out I paid $200 for. I spent another $100 for fuel and car trailer to get it. I then parted out all the wood, seats, grille, lights, wheels and a few things here and there. When I was done someone came and picked up the car and gave me $200 for it. The motor and trans were still in the car when i sold it. I also got what I needed for the conversion of my car. I MADE well over $1000 on the car. And I let stuff go pretty cheap.

You just have to remember not to pull a stupid little part for a few dollars when it will cost you 2 hours of your time just to pull it.

I hear you there.. took me a while to figure out that whole "time is money" concept.
