123 Tachometer
The tachometer in my '83 300D does not work. I pulled apart my instrument cluster earlier this week (and will have to dismantle it again this weekend) and figure that I should try to fix the tachometer while I am at it. Has anyone had any experience with fixing a broken one? Is it a common problem to have it not function? Is it easy to fix?

Do a search in here on the words "Tach" & "butt" (seriously). There's a simple fix involving a cigarette butt and the tach amp. It's probably been posted a dozen times. Don't tighten the amp too much or you'll break the circuit board (don't ask). And, repeat the Mercedesshop mantra: Did I use the search feature?
