Yeah, we had an olds 98 (1984) with the same color interior as well. It was comfy as your living room, but it handled like one as well.

Funny thing, the SD was probably 45 grand back then, the olds stickered at 25-27,000. The olds died 10 years ago because the computer replacement cost rivaled the value of the car, and you still would have had a car with sun-fried plastic interior parts and vinyl top that was turning to shredded wheat. Oh,and there was a loose spring in the drivers seatback tha poked its way outside and would tear up anything you wore while you drove. We only paid 4400 for it in 1992, what a huge depreciation from the 27K in 1984!

Nice car Nate

Seems to be in great shape both inside and out. I've never seen that chocolate color interior before. I like it. Engine looks very clean for that kind of mileage.

Tkotanch,

I'm going to write the previous "real" owner to see if they could let me know just how old that engine is. I have no other way of being sure it's new other than the 3 bar hot idle oil pressure (best I've EVER seen) or the fact that the ALDA cap hasn't been tampered with.

Melted, was the $1124 upcharge for leather (instead of MB tex) or the color? It'd be interesting to know if the color itself was an extra cost option--

I am not sure, it is leather so I suspect this was up charge for leather rather than color. I do know that in my original sales brochure it lists it as a color option.

I had the arm rest redone as well as the leather on the pillars. Since I live in the middle of horse country finding a good leather worker was easy and she was able to match the color exactly. She rather enjoyed the challenge.
Have fun
