How do you remove the center counsel on a 126 chasis?
Tomorrow I was hoping to return to the junkyard and finish pulling the wiring harness for the rear heated/power seat. I spoke with a member here who has done the same upgrade and he said to remove the center counsel, however I don't know how to get it out. The car is an '85 500SEL.
Thanks David

The window switch console =
Remove the shift display surround trim by pulling up, pull the coin tray, slide console forward roughly 5-10mm and lift it off.
The main center floor console is more complex.

Not sure what kind of info you need, but there were two locations that I had to find on my own: There are some holding screws on each side down close to the floor more towards the firewall on the carpeted area your leg would rub up against (the carpet sorta hides the screw holes). Also there were 2 screws behind the ashtray (removing the ashtray will expose the two I am talking about). The other thing is the cable that runs to the back to the rear a/c vent, remember to disconnect. The other are pretty self explanatory.
Take pics of what you do, I will doing something similar. I took a 4 place seating pkg. from a 560SEL that I need to install, its even more involved, as the front seats are orthopedic and I have to run the vacuum to them, and the rear seats have two sets of everything and multiple mounting brackets for each rear bucket seat.

Thanks guys. I'll go to the junkyard Monday and pull that one out of the 500 before I go near my SDL's. I need to pull that one anyway since I hear the wiring crosses there.
Thanks David
