Which is a better diesel purge ? What is the difference between the 2 ?

What is the preferred choice between the 2 for doing a diesel purge ?

I used Lubromoly. I guess my injectors wern't that bad because I didn't notice that much difference but I have read here that it has really help some people.
Where in Ca. are you?

LubroMoly and LiquiMoly Diesel Purge are the same thing, just under different names, LiquiMoly is what it's branded in Europe, LubroMoly is what it's branded as here.

The older cans use to say Liqui Moly, the new labels now read Lubro Moly. Lubro Moly is the company name.

I've heard a couple stories where this stuff wasted the seals inside the injection pump.
I'd like to use it in my 240D.
What do you think?

I would not necessarily believe every story I heard. Unless, of course, I heard it at the barber shop. Folks there know everything, just like on the internet.

It's entirely possible that it's similar to Seafoam in that sometimes old and worn out seals are only still "sealed" because they're plugged up with crud and it cleans so well that it makes "new" leaks, even though they were there all along. That would be my guess, if those stories are "true" (as seen by the people telling them).

I just can't imagine a company making a product for a specific purpose that damages the very thing it's supposed to be used on.

There aren't any rubber components in the IP or injectors.

The delivery valve holders have rubber o-rings.

How do listers feel about using Techron in a diesel?

For my w115, the rubber o-ring is part A0179974148. If you google that part number with and without the A in front, you can see its image and description.

EPC indicates the same part is used on the OM617 and OM603 as well. They call it a seal ring for the "Pressure Valve Holder" of the IP.

The epc shows that in a 240, but no five cylinder engines.

One parts web site shows it to fit '86-'95s only.

If you broaden your search in EPC to include more than just "North America" vehicles, you can see that the rubber o-ring was used in 5 and 6 cylinder diesels around the world. I wonder why it doesn't show up for North America versions of the OM617 (at least according to EPC)?
