Head Bolt Removal.

What am I suppose to use to remove the head bolts. It looks like a Torx head with 12 points instead of 6. I'm afraid to strip them.

Thanks

I've got a set of the Lisle tools.

Unlike the claims in the previous thread, they don't hit the cam towers.

You don't need the tool from M/B.

get

the right tool, clean out the inside of the bolt head, make sure you are in straight and fully in and twist like hell. no worries, you wont strip it unless one of the above things is wrong.

good luck

12mm 12 point hex

Hi,

I bought something called a 12mm 12 point hex socket drive from my local autoparts store. I didn't find any at the chain stores like Autozone, Kragen etc. The place was a mom and pop. Find a good store and they'll have them. Lisle sells one - you can look it up on their website.

Cheers,
Yoko

I got the Lisle tools from Carquest. It worked just fine. It is also indeed a triple square and NOT a double hex, because the points are 90 deg, not 60.
