Should the two electric cooling fans come on when I start the A/C? If not, at what temp do they comme on?

The car is the 95E300D.

Jay

The A/C system has a high pressure switch that closes when the freon gets to a threshold pressure. When the switch closes, the fan relay closes and the fan(s) get power and start to run.

My car's pressure switch worked fine and the relay was clicking on but the contacts inside the relay weren't making contact so battery power wasn't making it through the relay to the fans. I cleaned the contacts inside the relay and the fan has worked since then.

The pressure switch in not associated with the fan. The pressure switch opens to interupt power to the a/c compressor if the refrigerant pressure is either too low or too high. The aux fan is actuated by a temperature switch, also located on the receiver/dryer.
