Non MB A/C questions
Sorry for the non-MB question but again for the lack of another good forum I come to my peers.
Wife's '98 Ford Escort (no jokes please, she may read this) A/C quit working. Fuses OK Check pressure and it was reading in the red (almost 100psi!) Turn A/C on and the clutch will not engage. Tired to jump with a lead wire from battery and nothing. There seems to be a fluid leak but I am not sure it is coming from the A/C pump. The power steering pump above IS leaking. It does not make sense that I am reading that much pressure but the clutch will not engage. Any ideas???

What do you mean that the pressure is in the red? If the clutch is not engaging, then it would be normal to see near 100PSI on both low and high side.
You tried to jump what with a lead wire? Did you apply a good hot AND ground to the clutch? Need more information to help further. Good luck, |
