It sounds no different than the 83 and has power up the wazoo. Way more power than the 83.

The wagon I recently bought is a California model. I didn't realize that at the time as the car originated from Arizona nor was I aware of how disliked the model was by some. Regardless the trap oxidzer and turbo were replaced 40K miles ago by an MB dealer. I don't have a problem keeping up with current highway traffic and the turbo kicks in a little over 2000 rpm. Around town is ok too. I drove federal models that were doggier than this wagon.
