Talking MB diesel "Birthdays"

I was going through my car, and came across a little metal plate with some information on it. It had two dates on it. The first date said 7/27/81, and the other said 9/03/81. I'm assuming that the first date is my car's "birthday" since the plate on the door says that the car was manufactured in 7/81. And the second date is probably the date it was delivered to Houston since it is written in the maintainence book by the dealership owner too. So, I now know my car's birthday.
My car, "born": July 27, 1981( just five years, five months, and nine days older than me) in the W126 plant in Bremen (a late 81 model I suspect).
I would like to know what are the "birthdays" of other owners MB diesels here if you have them.
-Joe

My 350SD was built April of '91.

I have the original metal plate stamp from my '87 though. Looks like its birthday is coming up!

May 29, 1987 it was built. Too bad I don't have all the other plates.

My SD was "born" on 7/21/81. H-townbenzoboy, ours could have been on the same "nursery" together!

Wink

Liesel was born July 1979. And if she knew I was telling you this she'd kill me! Old ladies are soooo vain about their age.

My car had its 23rd b-day tuesday. I didn't do anything to celebrate it. I thought, hmmm... what should I do? So, while boredom was hovering around, I thought of a few things.

1. Have a celebration in the driveway. Invite the 350SDL from church, my cousin's 1982 500SEC Euro, my other cousin's E320, another cousin's S600, that W123 300D from down the street, and the 380SL and 300SEL from across the street.:p
2. Serve the guests (or rather their drivers) bundt cake, with silver frosting to look like a bundt cake rim, with edible center cap, and redline (red wine)
3. For the cars as "party favors", Diesel Purge, and Redline for the diesels, and Hi-test, and whatever gasser MBs like that's cheap
(that's right, I was losing it back then)
4. And for my car's birthday, the following gifts would have been acceptable:

free paint job at local body shop
cruise control amp
euro lights
threshold plates with light up MB logo
refinished 14" bundt cake rims
coco floormats (set)
free seat restoration
sheepskin seat covers
car cover
OR
the money to buy all this stuff

So, that's what happened when boredom hit on monday.

Well I guess it already passed by now so it'd be just to rude to give a gift now, just imagine how you'd feel if somebody told you happy birthday 4 days later! Will you settle for some free advice on how to fix your car?

Awwww man... but I already know how to fix some of that. I just want money so someone else can do it! Hmmm... free advice.... it's free... and it's advice..., but it's not money.... I guess it'll do, but I do take b-day gifts for myself, no matter HOW LATE after my b-day they arrive.

Well, the 300SD made 24 years old on Wednesday. I had forgotten all about it. I wish I could find out that exact date my 300D was made, or "born"
as well. All I know is that it was manufactured in June 1982. Anyone know how to find the "birthdate" of my 300D out? For free maybe?

I've seen that little stamped plate between the pages of the owner's manual. I'll take a look at it tomorrow and see just how old Hulga is. She's starting to show her age, but she's still pretty to me.

Bodhi's birthday is Dec. 8, 1986. And yes, I do celebrate it (this health nut is secretly always looking for an excuse to eat ice cream).

My car and I are both December babies, so we have to compete with Christmas. Maybe that's why I relate to my car so well ...

My 300D just turned 22 in June... we had a big bash too - I took her on a 3000 mile trip! She loved it, and is begging me to take her on another one - maybe this Christmas??
