Replacing A/C clutch and pully on 126 (results)
I wanted to replace my clutch and pully (bad bearing) without removing the compressor so as not to loose the gas. I grab a complete compressor that felt "tight" at the pull it parts for $15.
It was tough, but I got it done. I needed to pull the radiator, remove the top oil cooler line (to be able to lift the cooler up a bit). Because I didn't have snap ring pliers and the stores around me were out, I needed to remove the bolts to the compressor to get an angle to it...so I could see the clip so I could remove it with small screw drivers. To remove the clutch and pully I got the 4 tools required from Autozone (free loaner). To get them back on I used a portable vise and wood working clamps, along with some gentle taps from a 5 lb sledge. Don |
