I drove the bejeezus out of it. What else? The presidentials are 2.5 hours away at minimum. Averaging 75 - 80 mph all the way up Rt.16.

I refitted my polyurethane bumper and repaired the damage I caused from a winter squall.

I checked the underbody for any damage cleaned, and recoated areas that required attention. Looks good.

Changed all filters, and checked tank strainer.

Transmission needs a fluid and filter change.

Touched up body imperfections.

Checked differential oil level.

Going to look at steering damper.

Replaced headlight door lens assembly(both sides).

Tires to be installed next week hopefully.

Brakes, discs and bearings(regreased).

Waterpump to be monitored(starting to weep).

LR window regulator bracket replaced.

After all this work, the SDL will be fine and ready for anything. I haven't had to mess with the SE yet. But it may need a set of plugs, soon(brand new cap and rotor, though). The M103's seem to have an appetite for plugs.

Oil!!

Cleaned up the mess I made in my friend's wagon when I started it with the oil-pressure hose to the gauge disconnected. After 1/4 bag of kitty litter, 1/2 gal. heavy-duty degreaser and a shop vac full of oily crud, it looks better than it did before the tanker ran aground. Wish I could say the same for Prince William Sound. RUN YOUR DIESEL ON VEGGIE/BIODIESEL!!!!

Jay.

Sadly, nothing. And, gladly, nothing... Other than changing the Mobil 1 + plus air filter + fuel filters for the 300TD.

Oh, I broke off the sunvisor attachment clips also, both of them!

As for the convertible, it's disassembled and being stripped to bare metal with the engine out at the body shop. It's time to make it shiny.

Man!

Compared to you guys I've done nothing! Not even an oil change! All of my driving this summer has been spread out over four cars and as such none of them has required an oil change during this summer. One will be due soon though. Yesterday I changed two air filters on both 300SDs. And I think that's it!

This summer I started and completed a full frame-off restoration of my 1983 CJ-7 Limited. I completely disassembled and cleaned/rebuilt/replaced/repainted every single component. Some upgrades (onboard air with regulated output, AGR steering box/pump, D.U.I. Distributor, Milemarker 75 series hydraulic winch, poly fuel tank, greasable shackle/maineye bushings, etc.) but for the most part still stock, even the factory correct semigloss black windshield frame. I did every bit of the work, including the painting...

Talking My accomplishments.

I did the following to my SD.

Changed oil (due again real soon)
Changed Air Filter
Fixed both power seats
Fixed leak that was flooding rear drivers footwell
Fixed front driver power window (stole motor off of broken regulator of drivers rear window!)
Fixed central locking system (kinda, passenger door won't lock by itself, but unlocks.)
Fixed power antenna (kinda, needs cleaning and lube)
Replaced rear rotors and pads, (I have front, just havent done em yet,) replaced rear drivers caliper (OUCH!! ) and rebuilt the other three, plus flushed the system with new ATE DOT 4 fluid.
Wired in an electric lock actuator in drivers door to allow for remote locks
Hooked up vacuum changeover valve to allow for remote start.
Installed alarm pin switches for all four doors, hood, and trunk.
Tweaked the alda
Did 0-60 runs!
Tested brakes (nice long black skid mark.)

There's probably something I've missed, oh well...

I had new front rotors and pads installed today, and I found out that I had Kleen Wheels on my brakes!! I had them removed of course. I don't mind cleaning some brake dust, but I do mind having warped brakes and decreased safety.

I'm not quite done yet though, I am going to install a 125 mph speedometer with a working odometer in a few days, maybe paint the needles back to their original orange, install a retaining bracket for my newly acquired manual antenna which looks quite good I must say, and install a new latch on my glove compartment door, which is being held up now with duct tape. Other possible projects before school begins include... installing pool noodles in the back seat and passenger's seat, some more A/C duct repair, "reyellowing" the fog lights, clean the engine bay out and painting the grille black.

-Joe
UPDATE!
I installed the 125 mph speedometer with the working odometer just under a month ago, I've recorded 1,300 miles in less than a month and it's working great. I painted the gauge needles orange, installed a used intact instrument cluster housing from an older model W123 in mine since the old one was broken and the gauges were falling back. I installed new bulbs in the instrument cluster and I can see the numbers at night now. I have the glove compartment door fixed, it's not right, but it latches, locks and opens, and that's all that matters. I put pool noodles in the passenger's side and rear seats, and decided to reposition the foam again on my side, though I think I'm seriously going to need a new spring box on my side one day. I installed the mounting bracket for my manual antenna, changed the fuel filters, I'm running B20 biodiesel as of yesterday. I have the a/c blower fuse repair installed, I'm enjoying that. Next week, I'm going to install some dark orange/amber Euro style front turn signal lamps, and maybe paint my grille black.
