hi -
i am looking at buying a used 300D w/approx. 165,000 miles on it. what kind of things should i look out for with this vehicle? thanks in advance for your help. |

what year? It would help us to know what chassis we are talking about?

its a 1986, w123 chassis. supposedly the car is rust free (located in new jersey), and seems to be very inexpensive given what you see these cars selling for on e-bay

There were no W123's in 1986 - the last W123 model was in 1985... if it is a 300D from 1986, you are looking at a W124.

Yeeeaaahh... I thought about that after I posted, but you think a seller would say it is a 85 model even if it was registered in 86, or at least I hope they would. Anyway - there are many ways to tell between the two.. they are basically two totally different cars
