Mileage specific maintenance.

I'm going to be rolling over 200K miles before the end of the summer, and I'm just wondering what I should be checking up on under the hood.

I had the valve cover off about three weeks ago, but I didn't give the chain more than a simple inspection...gave it a feel with my fingers (that sounds perverted...sorry) to see if there was any slack....there is a wee little bit, but I don't think it's anything that will keep the car from running...

regardless, the car has like 200K miles on it and I have no idea what the PO did to keep it in working order.

What should I be paying attention to? what parts needed evaluation with this many miles on the car?

1982 240D.
My name is Michael, and I am an 18 year old binge-drinkin', cigar-smokin', novel-writin', all around unsavory and unnattractive guy. I tell long-winded stories, and I only shave once a week, although I've had to do it every day since I was 16.
