W201 axle shafts

Howdy,

While doing a brake job on my '84 190D 2.2 this weekend, I checked out the axle shafts and noticed that one had quite a bit more longitudinal play than the other. That is, I could grab the axle and move it back and forth towards the differential.

Is there any spec on how much end play these are supposed to have? No side to side play and the boots look fine. Total play was approx 1/8" or maybe 3/16".

Sholin
