No heat or air in '82 300SD MB...Help!

I recently purchased an '82 300SD that doesn't have heat or air, and basically no type of blower sound at all. I just need a few suggestions and a priority list as far as things that I should be checking. Thanks in advance for your help.

The owner's manual provides an excellent description of the way the climate control system works, and also shows where the fuses are.

That's my main problem

The car didn't come with an owners manual. I think you helped me a couple of weeks ago with a power steering fluid location question.

Thanks

OK, then I'd start looking for one. I'd recommend searching and THEN posting on the diesel discussion forum (strong concentration of old diesel fans there)- there may be an online version of the info you need. Also, putting your location, vehicle year and type helps in getting responses.

300SD Blower Problems

I had an 81 300SD with similar symptoms and it turned out to be a worn out blower motor. These are easy to change and is located inside the passenger compartment under the dash on the passenger side of the car. Drop the panel under the dash then lay on your back looking up and you will see the blower motor. Three screws will allow you to remove it. Check the fuse first to make sure that is not the problem.

Good luck.
