I need your help more than ever.

I rear ended a UPS truck. It was mostly my fault and luckily there was no apperent damage to his truck so the cops did not intervene. I need some advice on what kind of new lights I should get. I was thinking about getting euros or clears for my headlights and my tailights. I am quite pissed at myself although it seems as if im celebrating.

No your not pissed, you wanted an excuse to buy Euros

I found the Depot after market euros 1/2 the price of Bosch, and in my opinion, just as good.

Are you sure ebay is safe and reliable. A freind of mine warned me about ebay's products saying they do not fit...etc.

There's also TYC brand out of Taiwan.

You can get new MB Euro lights, used MB Euro lights, new replacement Euro lights and used replacement Euro lights. You have to know what you want and what you're getting. There's also the option of adding headlight adjustment, keeping US headlight wipers, switching to Euro headlight wipers, not installing headlight wipers (what I did).

I have Bosch lights out of a Euro car and it wasn't a bolt on deal. The driver side lower bracket of whatever car they came from didn't line up with the SDL. Can't use US brackets with Euro headlights without some modification.

Its not that eBay items in general won't always fit, its that the sellers seldom know what they are selling! They don't often specify that a given headlight has the necessary dimensions for a Mercedes application, like the small tabs on the rear of the headlights that fit the indexing slots may not be there, or in the case of Indian made headlights sold under the name Autopal, the OD is smaller than it should be and the lights will not lock in the chrome rings unless a large diameter O-ring is used as a gasket. BTDT. They rattled around in the headlite buckets until serious work was done to rectify that.
There are those selling headlights that have the lens all pitted from use or worse yet have the silvering peeling or yellowed with age. Why can't people throw something away when its been used up?

And then there are the Euro headlites that come from Britain etc that have opposite uptilt on the beam pattern, thereby blinding on coming traffic here and elsewhere. I've seen them on eBay listed as take offs, like when a Brit car comes over here and has to be converted to meet equipment regulations, then years later the owner's offspring takes them out of storage and lists them on eBay as "something rare and worthy of your fine European car", yeah right!
Ebay = let the Buyer beware!

I suggest you contact a dealer that is knowledgeable and doesn't sell any garbage, such as the following:
http://www.classicgarage.com/classicgarage/hel7rounh4he.html
PUMA www.puma-access.com call Paul at 800.354.3552
Susquehanna.com used to sell Hella Euros but I find their web site doesn't come up, maybe someone has an active link?
Personally I consider 7-inch Carellos the best headlight you can put on a 123. They are superior to Hellas and outshine the square lamps used on US marketed 124 and 126 cars (unless they were converted to use real Euros!)
Speaking of 124 Euro lights, I am looking for a set. Anyone having something PM me, thanks!
