Unhappy $3.15 a gallon!

Ouch!

that was my (usually cheap) fill up stations diesel #2 price this morning..... with B100 only .35 cents higher i think i am going to go that route again. it was 2.99 just two days ago.... one hell of a spike

what are you paying for diesel in your area this week?

what is the cost of biodiesel in your neck of the woods?

Diesel is around $2.48 or so and regular is around the same.

We need to start building some refineries!

Thanks
David

$2.99 at the cheep place, $3.11 at the expensive place right next door. I used to be a multi diesel owner so out of habit I still watch the prices. Its like the stock market, historically diesel is cheaper but short term excursions may differ. The local story I heard is a nearby refinery had a surplus and sold it, and right after that had a fire.

Building a refinery is like starting a cold diesel, there's a bunch of time from when you want it running, to when it actually gets running.

..........more like making every single component for the diesel from scratch, and then assembling all the pieces, and then starting it up, and then fixing what is leaking and then................

It is around $ 3.00 per Gal if you shop. If I see one with an acceptable price, I fill up.
Folks, the prices will continue to go up. Even as an optimist, I can see crude price of $ 100 in the near future and that could well bring our pump price to around $ 5 bucks.
It is time for the forum to put together an understandable setup for the layman to assemble WVO in our garages - the timing, entrepreneurs, is right!

I think I paid $2.35 - $2.40. I can't remember.
Sunoco is almost always the cheapest.

Saw Diesel #2 in Monrovia for $3.27 a gallon. More expensive than Premium. Is that diesel discouragement? I think soybean oil at Smart and Final is cheaper now

Over here the prices trail closely behind California's. I too am surprised by the spike in diesel fuel price as it's higher than premium gas which is something I've never seen and it's not even fall yet. At one of the truck stops it's $2.80 but at some of the other gas stations it's up to $3.10. If this isn't an incentive to produce more biodiesel I don't know what is.

Here are the prices at my local Mobil station:

Diesel 2.399,
Regular 2.539
Plus 2.599
Premium 2.699

...Diesel is cheaper than regular by a good 14 cents. I think they have old stock, however. Normally diesel is at least equal to regular, if not, a few pennies more. It is MUCH cheaper than premium anywhere you go around here.

Public Transportation??

Maybe more people need to use public transportation (subways / buses) or at least carpool to work everyday. Unfortunately,my wife and I both have jobs outside of convienient transportation routes however we do carpool. Think of how much less traffic there would be if the majority of cars on the road had more than 1 person in them. I refuse to fork over more money than absolutly possible to big business and people in our government who support Middle Eastern cartels. The only way to reduce the cost of oil is to purchase less of it. Drive your vintage cars on free time, for fun, as a hobby. (They'll last longer too )

I paid 2.89.9 4 days ago at a Shell station that hadn't yet realized prices were going up. The next day they were to 2.99.9 and the discount stations and all others here in cupertino are all about 3.11.9. It is officially cheaper to buy fresh fryer oil at costco.

Thats what I have been thinking, eventually diesel will just cost more than B100 or even fresh canola or soy oils at costco or sams club etc... I need to call the station in my city to find out what B100 costs....they only sell it by appointment.....
