Hi all;
Wondering if anyone has run across this, I did a search and didn't find anything that really is like what I've got.

When I get into the car I open the driver door, sit down, put the key in turn to glow plug and wait for the GP light to go out. Whilst I do this the dome light flashes at me. Near as I can tell it's 2 auick flashes, pause, 2 more quick flashes.

I know that the "a" fuse is blown cause the drivers seat won't adjust. It got stuck in the position I use and my wife rarely drives the car these days so it's not that big a problem to me.

What is a drag though is that the blower for the HVAC doesn't work. Could this be related to the light flashing thing? I checked the fuse box under the hood on this and found only the one fuse blown in position "a".

Has anyone run into this before?

I had a similiar experience........

I cannot remember the circuit that was faulty (as far as fuse number) but once I repaired the faulty wiring and got the circuit back operational my dome light went back to normal. I remember that the circuit controlled the vacuum pump for the door locks, the seat memory, and one or two other little things.......

It's just its own little 'Johnny 5' way of telling you there is a problem.

Nope, I never did figure out what was going on. Mine still does it - going on two years now - I periodically blow the fuse that controls the power seats and memory. It's not that big a deal to me since I'm the only one who drives the car and the seat is set just the way I want it. In fact, now that my wife can't change the seat I don't have to fool with it to get things back the way I want...

I suspect that the blinking light may have something to do with the periodic short (just as you've said, Smoooth). I've been really bad though and neglected the SDL for quite some time. Perhaps I can get the garage cleaned up after the recent furnace install and get the car in there for some TLC. First off I have to fix the door latch. Some A$$hat found the car unlocked on the street one night and slammed the door to the point it won't shut right now. But that's a different story and topic...

Keep us posted if you dig up some info on the flashing dome light thing.
