I have to replace my altenator and alternator swing bracket as the bracket had cracked and also damaged the alternator at the swivel point/section.
How do I remove and re-fit the adjusting bolt and the tensioner rod which is welded into the head of the adjusting bolt, without damaging anything? Thanks for any ideas, I find your forum very informative and enlightening. '85 300 SD '82 300 D '81 240 D '76 450 SE |
The adjustment bolt is "L" shaped and threaded at both ends. You should be able to loosen the head of the adjustment bolt that faces the passenger side fender (its part of the swing bracket). I hope this helps.
