93 300SD shut off valve replacement

Just got the valve in today. Getting the back 10mm out is a challange. Anyone have a suggestion without removing the manifold? I cannot get a wrench on the nut. Is there an easier way? Are there instructions available for the 93 diesel anywhere?

You can remove the ALDA without removing the intake manifold. gsxr's description is in the archives. You might be able to get away with turning the ALDA so its body is not over the bolt. Turning or removing [i]should not[/] alter the setting.

I already removed the exhaust manifold to get to the alda

Sixto, I think I need a step by step (including what mm wrench) to remove the alda to reach the shut off diaphram. I've looked at the alda with a flashlight and mirror and could tell there were two different wrenches required and the alda took the smaller of the two. I assume you cannot just hold the larger one on the bottom, looks to be about 24 mm and turn the alda with a large water pump type pliers. I can hardly beleive anyone could remove that shut off diaphram without taking of the manifold, unless they were plastic man.
Assuming I get the alda off, how do I remove the electrical whatever it is that is next to the shut off diaphram? Looks to have a pretty simple method of removal by pushing the lever one way or the other, or is it even necessary to take it off?
Another question, on the 93 300sd, will the faulty shut off diaphram cause a lack of power and smoke after the car warms up? The diaphram has to be shot, it takes 5 seconds to shut off. Runs like a champ until it gets down the road 20 miles. I've replaced all the fuel filters and cleaned out the in-tank strainer. I'd love to get this going in the next few days to run Phoenix, a 1200 mile trip....Thanks
