Calliper Question(ATE/Bendix)? Difference
I had to change my rear calliper a few months ago, it was a bendix. No problem changed it, works great..... Now my front drivers calliper is leaking. Bought a Bendix calliper, and found out my front callipers were ATE in the front. I thought they were supposed to be the same all the way around? Did I get a weird one or what? THANKS!

I would imagine that they were all the same when the vehicle left the factory.
But, somewhere along the line, either the front or rear calipers were changed. I doesn't matter whether you use Bendix or ATE in the front or in the rear, but, I'd keep the same manufacturer on both sides of the "axle" |

Well, I don't have any stopping problems at all. In fact it is smooth as glass. I recently changed all of the rotors and, pads, that is also when I changed the rear calliper. The only way I knew the front calliper was leaking was when I took off my wheel to have it painted. Anyway I went back with the ATE, the core was cheaper to go figure

i dont
think keeping the same brands on each end is necessary. i have mixed them several times with no bad effects.

I am not sure they were matched in sets of four at the factory. I do remember reading in the FSM that it was permissable to mix them in pairs, as long as each pair was the same OEM.
