air flow direction on aux fans

I have searched the forums and havent seen this one....
1992 300D newer radiator and aux fans + thermostat...temps are running above 100c. Aux fans are running but if I hold my hand in front of aux fan it feels like air is being pushed out and not back thru radiator....Is this normal?

I found the same thing occurring on my 87 300D back when I bought it several years ago. Obviously the air flow should be pulling cool air into the grill, not from the other direction! I found that the two prong plug for the aux fan was simply installed backward! I simply unplugged it and turned the plug 180 degrees so the prongs reversed and reinserted. Now the fan turns in the right direction pulling air into the radiator from outside.
