Diesel Nurse
A friend gave her my cell number...
Hello, I am Jane Blank I am a nurse and 300D owner. John Blank gave me your number in case I had car trouble. Well; I have a problem, and need advice. I bought the car about a year and a half ago. Bought the Haynes manual and some metric tools, changed my fuel filters about two months ago. I noticed this black slime on everything under the hood and started cleaning. Last week I found this crack in the exhaust manifold pooping black slime every place. I cleaned it up and gave the car an enema with the garden hose and dish soap; until it ran clean from the crack in the exhaust manifold, (without turning off the hose) I cranked it over to blow the water out. The engine made a really loud wet FART, shook itself and stopped. The engine has not run since then. Guiding her over the engine; I determined the exhaust turbo housing was broken, the exhaust manifold crack was three times larger than before the enema. Here is where I informed her that the engine was junk. I explained that she forced water into the piston cylinder and it is not compressible = bent rod or other bad damage + hydraulic shock broke the turbo and finished off the exhaust manifold. Her comment: I guess a diesel enema was a bad idea.

Wish he would have given her this site's URL with instructions to ask here first. Still, if the car is otherwise in good shape, all may not be lost.

Whunter seems to have an endless list of "amazing" Diesel stories. If you think this one is a bit implausible check out this one from 2004.
Modification you may want, "not"..... |

Story is true. Roy called me a month ago the day it happened and recounted the story to me. He's been promising to post it ever since...

With the stupidity of the average moron out there today, I can believe any story that is portrayed on here.
As Roy has stated in the past..................too stupid to own a diesel. |

He does have lots of stories doesn't he?
Like the one with the person who flushed his engine out with kerosene. All very amusing. Danny

My uncle has had one since new, its a barebones '96 model, (no A/C even) all he's ever had to repair was new spark plugs, a rear brake drum that corodded, and a tuneup. He hit a deer two years ago, and had some body work done and a new windshield. It currently has about 106k on it.....no engine/tranny (3spd auto) probs yet. Exhaust is clear.....uses no oil....2.2liter 4cyl ecotec engine. All it currently needs is a new muffler (rusted out). It does do weird things, sometimes if he doesn't wait long enough after starting it/going into drive it will rev up a ways before it starts to move/get going...almost like it has to get its torque converter going or something, its especially like that when super cold out. Otherwise....so far its had no real probs.
